A Neighbourhood Plan is an opportunity for local
people to create a framework for delivering a sustainable future for the
benefit of all who live, work or visit our area.
A Neighbourhood Plan, once given
statutory force, becomes part of the Development Plan for the area and this
statutory status gives Neighbourhood Plans far more weight than other local
documents such as parish plans or village design statements. However, a Plan
must also comply with European and National legislation and be in general
conformity with existing strategic planning policy. Whilst every effort has
been made to make the main body of the Plan easy to read and understand, the
wording of the actual policies is necessarily more formal so that it complies
with these statutory requirements.
This website provides details of
the Neighbourhood Plan for Burbage, including a copy of the document itself and
how it’s been put together.
In order to create a Plan, there
was a need to have a vision. You can
read more about this in the ‘Our Vision’ section...
The public consultation event has now been completed and amendments to the Plan made accordingly. The Plan is now with the officers of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council for formal review of the Plan. Once this formal process has been completed the Plan will then go forward to the appointed planning inspector for approval and then on to public referendum, hopefully mid-2019.
